In 1962 he defeated one of the best British fighters, Dave Charnley, to win the lightweight Commonwealth title, retaining it until 1967.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Charnley, he faced some of the best fighters of the era, including Eddie Perkins, Teo Cruz, Percy Hayles, Carlos Hernandez and Clyde Gray.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All the WBC Family sends condolences to the Grant family.
