WBC will do a full investigation into the death of Sara\u00ed Arenas<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The World Boxing Council has received information about the case of boxer Sara\u00ed Arenas Alba, who very unfortunately died eight days after a fight she had in Cuernavaca, Morelos.<\/p>\n

Faced with this situation, the WBC will activate the Protocol called “Accidents in the Ring”, to find out what were the causes of her death, and for this a thorough investigation will be done.<\/p>\n

This card was at Deportivo \u201cCri Cri\u201d in Cuernavaca, Morelos, on the afternoon of May 22, within the \u201cBarrio de Campeones\u201d Tournament, in a promotion by Mr. Dionisio Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\n

Sara\u00ed Arenas` opponent was Danna Paola \u201cTucita\u201d Ponce. It was scheduled to be a four rounds bout in the super bantamweight division. The referee Juan Luna Mundo, stopped the bout in the third round and a technical knockout was declared.<\/p>\n

It was reported that Sarai Arenas Alba left the ring herself, but days afterwards she felt ill and went to the hospital, where she was treated, but unfortunately the doctors could not save her life.<\/p>\n

We are all deeply dismayed by this loss, and a full investigation of the facts must be done.
\nWe express our deepest condolences to Luis Alberto Santiago, Sara\u00ed’s husband, as well as to their three children Alexis Antonie, Danna Paula and Mia Bethzabet, who are suffering the tragic loss of their mother.<\/p>\n
