Shields fights for her city\u2019s bright lights<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On March 5 at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan, there will be a card featuring female fights, and the main bout will be between the champion Claressa Shields Vs \u00a0undefeated Marie-Eve Dicaire, in a super welterweight unification.<\/p>\n

Claressa will attempt to become the first undisputed champion in two divisions, in what is expected to be a thriller between two of the best female fighters at 154 pounds.<\/p>\n

In this fight Shields seeks to raise the profile of women’s boxing, and she`s competing \u00a0for the first time as a professional in her hometown of Flint, Michigan.<\/p>\n

Claressa commeted: “I am very excited to fight in Flint. I will be fighting with my blue tresses like always to represent the water crisis in Flint and let the world know that my city still does not have clean water and it has been almost seven years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love being an advocate for my hometown and being able to let young kids see me and know that with hard work they can be successful. They can be superstars. \u00a0I’m very excited about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to representing my city, I will be fighting to continue promoting the growth of women’s boxing. Despite the fact that television networks \u00a0no longer promote women’s boxing due to the pandemic, my team, my promoter and I decided to take the risk and carry out the pay-per-view card to continue promoting women’s boxing.<\/p>\n

“It’s a big risk. I know I’m training to win. This is the first pay-per-view card for women’s boxing in 20 years. We are confident that we will have great success and we will continue to see other great fighters representing women’s boxing in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs for the fight, I am sure it will be incredible. People who love boxing will enjoy. That is what I am focused on. My team and I decided that it is time for us to step up in our faith and take some risks, in order to show the world that women’s boxing is here to stay.”<\/p>\n
