The WBC mourns \u00a0the death of Dr. Tabar\u00e9 V\u00e1zquez<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Those of us who form part of the World Boxing Council, especially our President \u00a0Mauricio Sulaiman, are greatly saddened by \u00a0the death of the former President of the Republic of Uruguay, Dr. Tabar\u00e9 V\u00e1zquez, a very beloved and admired man in his country.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sulaim\u00e1n had the memorable honor of being received in March 2017 by Dr. Tabar\u00e9 V\u00e1zquez, who supported the job request made to the Uruguayan Commission for Amateur and Professional Boxing (CUBAP), headed by Sergio M\u00e1rquez. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz was present at that same meeting.<\/p>\n

On that great occasion, the former President confessed his preference for Sa\u00fal \u201cCanelo\u201d Alvarez, likewise, he praised the trajectory and life\u2019s work of Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n, for all he did for the good of boxing, a sport he practiced in the amateur field, declaring himself a fan of boxing.<\/p>\n

The President \u00a0of the WBC sends his deepest condolences to both the family and many friends of Dr. Tabar\u00e9 V\u00e1zquez, as well as to the entire Uruguayan people in solidarity for the memory of a great man, who faithfully served his country.<\/p>\n
