WBC participates at the International Summit of Women Leaders<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The International Summit of Women Leaders is an initiative of Consultants in Planning – COPLAN whose main objective is to contribute to the greater participation of Women as social, political and economic \u00a0factors \u00a0in Peru and Latin America, promoting the exchange of experiences and knowledge that strengthen leadership to face current challenges.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, \u00a0There was discussion about key players, who fight every day from for the development of equity and equal opportunities.<\/p>\n

In this sense, the international summit welcomed \u00a0the participation of WBC President Mr. Mauricio Sulaiman as of significant importance. \u00a0He had talks with Gloria Nash Mart\u00ednez, about the role of the WBC in the search for equality.<\/p>\n

Mauricio Sulaiman talked about the origins of women’s boxing, recalled how this sport had been banned in many countries,. So our visionary Lifetime President Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n, always a great impetus of humanity, carried out an exhaustive, \u00a0extensive And persevering \u00a0campaign for the creation, development, promotion and sanctioning of women’s boxing.<\/p>\n

Mauricio presented a video in which we could see the greatest exponents of the sport offering fantastic \u00a0battles, judges and ring officials, supervisors and other great People of immense \u00a0character and fortitude, \u00a0who have developed a career in the sport.<\/p>\n

Gloria asked about the main challenge for women towards the development of women’s boxing. Mauricio pointed out that the challenge is not for our fighters, as our champions have always impressed, \u00a0by handling themselves with great professionalism, always being at weight for their fights and offering great battles.<\/p>\n

The WBC leader pointed out that the real challenge lies in a currently lopsided \u00a0status quo<\/em> and in the structure that surrounds them, and that it is the mission of the WBC and of each one of us, to break these paradigms, \u00a0in order to move once and for all towards a real pay equity and equal opportunities.<\/p>\n

Mauricio also emphasized the potential of boxing to combat violence, as this sport is closely linked with values \u200b\u200bsuch as dedication, work, sacrifice, honor and loyalty. Boxing has been mistakenly considered as a violent sport; however, there are transformative elements that are modifying the close nucleon of those who practice boxing.<\/p>\n

To conclude, Mauricio \u00a0spoke about the great step of the organization \u00a0in search of equity: namely the homologation of the belt. In 2004, the WBC designed its women’s world championship belt for the first time, using a smaller plate, pink colors and a flower-shaped base; However, having carefully \u00a0listened to the global community and our champions, \u00a0the WBC understood that all those who step into the ring with the purpose of conquering glory, deserve the same recognition … so, as of today, all our champions receive the exactly the same world championship belt.<\/p>\n
