Adam L\u00f3pez conquers NABF title in Las Vegas<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Featherweight prospect Adam Lopez<\/strong> (14-2, 6 KOs), in his first fight since his loss against Oscar Valdez<\/strong> last year, captured the NABF<\/strong> Featherweight title.<\/p>\n

He defeated Louie Coria<\/strong> by majority decision, in a close and highly entertaining fight this Thursday at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. On a card presented by TOP RANK <\/strong>and broadcast on ESPN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Coria (12-3, 7 KOs) jumped on Lopez early, closing down the distance, backing him up, then letting \u00a0his hands go. Coria took control in the first two rounds with his constant aggressiveness.<\/p>\n

Then L\u00f3pez and his corner made necessary adjustments. He started using his jab and countering \u00a0Coria appreciably more frequently.<\/p>\n

Down the stretch, Lopez wrested control. But Coria never gave up and continued attacking until the very last moment. After 10 rounds, the judges had the fight 96-94, 96-94 and 95-95 in favor of L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n
