WBC mourns the passing of Eddie Cotton<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We have received the very sad news of the death of\u00a0 renowned Referee Eddie Cotton, this Friday in New Jersey, due to the Covid-19 coronavirus.<\/p>\n

Eddie, who`d \u00a0spent two weeks in the hospital, was a resident of Paterson, New Jersey. He worked as a ring official from 1992 to 2014. He was a Referee in great historical fights\u00a0including: \u00a0Bernard Hopkins vs. Chad Dawson II, Sergio Mart\u00ednez vs. Matthew Macklin, Hasim Rahman vs. James Toney, Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson, among many others.<\/p>\n

We will always respect and revere\u00a0Eddie as a ring official who was totally honest in his performances. Eddie will be remembered as an exemplary person a great friend, and he`ll be greatly missed.<\/p>\n

The World Boxing Council and its President, Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n Saldivar, send Eddie’s family and friends their deepest condolences.<\/p>\n
