WBC deeply regrets accident in Sonora<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The World Boxing Council and its President \u00a0Mauricio Sulaiman, are greatly saddened by \u00a0the car accident which occurred on the Sonora International Highway, in which coach Jonathan Oros and others died.<\/p>\n

The accident happened early this Sunday. Unfortunately not only did coach \u00a0Jonathan Oros, 61, lose his life, but also seven young boxers and the driver of \u00a0the vehicle. Many others remain hospitalized.<\/p>\n

The group of athletes had attended a boxing competition in Ciudad Obreg\u00f3n, in the municipality of Cajeme. All were heading to Puerto Pe\u00f1asco, a town where the coach had a big reputation for training good fighters, as in the case of \u00a0WBC super flyweight champion, Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada, whom he trained in his early days.<\/p>\n

A month ago, Oros joined the representative of Puerto Pe\u00f1asco, \u00a0who won three titles in the state stage of the CONADE 2020 National Games.<\/p>\n

The entire WBC joins the family of these young champions, the coach and driver at this terribly sad time.<\/p>\n
