Braekhus aiming for “Brown Bomber” record<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Undisputed welterweight world champion Cecilia Braekhus will defend her titles against the super lightweight unified champion Jessica McCaskill at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, on Friday, April 17, live on DAZN.<\/p>\n

Braekhus (36-0, 9 KOs) will put all her 147-pound belts on the line for the tenth time after claiming all of them in September 2014. Plus \u00a0if the \u201cFirst Lady” wins she will be breaking the record of Joe Louis of 25 consecutive title defenses.<\/p>\n

However, McCaskill (8-2 3 \u200b\u200bKOs) is sure she can peak in order to break that streak in Maryland, as the Chicago star has certainly been one of the great success stories in the last year of women’s boxing.<\/p>\n

\u201cMCasKILLA\u201d recovered from a close defeat versus world champion Katie Taylor in London in December 2017 to win the WBC super lightweight crown in October 2018.<\/p>\n

This great match will be part of the card where \u00a0former super lightweight \u00a0world champions Regis Prograis and Maurice Hooker will clash.<\/p>\n

“I am very excited to fight Jessica McCaskill on April 17,” Braekhus said. “She is a unified world champion and a formidable opponent for me. However, after my victory in November, I only took a short time off from training. I will be well prepared for this difficult challenge. \u201d<\/p>\n

“This is\u00a0exactly the \u00a0fight I wanted,” McCaskill said. \u201cI want to fight against the biggest names and the best fighters. My name lives up to the best in the history of women’s boxing and I want to continue on that path. Every time I fight it is exciting and I always give of myself to the very fullest.\u201d<\/p>\n
