Maria Micheo receives WBC international belt<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Guatemalan fighter, Maria Micheo was presented with the international WBC belt of minimum weight which she conquered last Saturday, defeating Mexican Cinthya Mart\u00ednez by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

Maria, who has made her career in Mexico, was thrilled and proud to receive from the WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman and WBC female bantamweight champion Mariana Juarez, at the Martes a Caf\u00e9 event, which this week landed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, lalnepantla in the State of Mexico.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a very special day for me, I not only win this important title, I\u00a0take \u00a0an important step towards a world championship but also I fought in front of my people, in my beloved Guatemala and that was the first time I fought as professional in my land.<\/p>\n

“I feel very fortunate to be here and to be part of the WBC family, this is only the beginning, because from now on I will be in search of the title opportunity, to \u00a0fulfill the dream that began eight years ago when I started boxing. ”<\/p>\n

Maria thanked everyone who made\u00a0this \u00a0possible, and\u00a0\u00a0especially to her coach, Marisol Rhodesa. She makes history by being the first Guatemalan champion crowned in her land.<\/p>\n
