\u00a0<\/strong>The WBC Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Boxers Fund Will Now Accept Applications Year-Round:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Instead of an annual grant cycle, Fund will consider applications on a rolling basis<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The World Boxing Council and the Nevada Community Foundation are pleased to announce that the WBC Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Boxers Fund, created to support retired boxing professionals who have fallen into hard times, will now accept grant applications year-round, instead of limited to an open-and-closed grant cycle.<\/p>\n

The Fund will accept applications for assistance from boxers eligible to receive assistance on an annual rolling basis.\u00a0 Each applicant who receives support from the Fund will be able to reapply for assistance, one-year after the date of the Selection Committee\u2019s last decision.<\/p>\n

This change was made possible due to the generosity and support of many of the WBC\u2019s partners, including Fundaci\u00f3n Telmex, WBC-affiliated organizers, promoters, and partners and friends, and especially Hublot, which have teamed up with the WBC for a spectacular \u201cNight of Champions\u201d fundraiser on May 3, 2019.<\/p>\n

Through this Fund, WBC President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n proudly continues the legacy of former president Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n in supporting boxing\u2019s greatest heroes who have fallen into hard times.\u00a0 The Fund is administered by the Nevada Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n

Retired professional boxers who face significant immediate financial need are encouraged to apply. \u00a0For questions and assistance with the application process, please contact your local WBC federation or affiliate.\u00a0 Questions may also be directed to Nevada Community Foundation at:<\/p>\n
