American Deontay Wilder secured a narrow split-decision victory over British veteran Derek Chisora before a sold-out crowd at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

The bout, far from a display of pure technique, transformed into an unorthodox battle of survival. From the early rounds, the fight was marred by irregularities, including rabbit punches, constant pushing, and confusing exchanges that cluttered the spectacle.<\/p>\n

Chisora (36-14, 23 KOs) dictated the pace, pressing incessantly and holding the initiative, while Wilder waited patiently for the moment to detonate his legendary right hand.<\/p>\n

The drama peaked in the second half of the fight. In the eighth round, Chisora ended up between the ropes, though he managed to recover quickly. In the eleventh, the Briton was again caught in the ropes while attempting to evade punishment, leading the referee to issue a standing eight count.<\/p>\n

Shortly after, Wilder (45-5-1, 43 KOs) visited the canvas. Despite protests from the “Bronze Bomber,” who claimed the fall was a result of a slip combined with the impact, the official in the ring ruled it a knockdown, counting it on the scorecards.<\/p>\n
