Today, the WBC\u2019s weekly press conference, Martes de Caf\u00e9, was held at the \u201cV\u00edctor Manuel Mendoza\u201d cinema located in Magdalena Contreras Borough.<\/div>\n
The conference was attended by the borough mayor, Lic. Fernando Mercado; the Ambassador of Jordan to Mexico, His Excellency Adli Qasen Muhammad Alkhaledi; the WBC interim lightweight champion, Isaac \u201cPitbull\u201d Cruz; WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman; among others.<\/div>\n

Several important topics were addressed throughout the conference, beginning with the borough\u2019s commitment to open four new public boxing gyms. The mayor announced that, working alongside \u201cPitbull\u201d Cruz and the WBC, they will develop a training program for these gyms, which will become the first 24-hour boxing gyms.<\/div>\n

The Ambassador of Jordan to Mexico, His Excellency Adli Qasen Muhammad Alkhaledi, took the microphone to highlight the work of the World Boxing Council over the years and specifically praised the \u201cBoxing for Peace\u201d program.<\/div>\n

Also in attendance was boxer Gloria \u201cPantera Rosa\u201d Bautista, who at the end of last year won the WBC Continental Latin American bantamweight title. Mauricio Sulaiman officially presented her with the belt, congratulating her and encouraging her to make it the first of many green and gold belts.<\/div>\n

For his part, Isaac \u201cPitbull\u201d Cruz expressed his excitement about the \u201cBoxing for Peace\u201d program, stating that many Mexican champions will emerge from it. The champion also shared his pride in being from Magdalena Contreras and encouraged young people to take up boxing.<\/div>\n

Josejas, WBC ambassador, was also present and, alongside Mauricio Sulaiman, the ambassador, and Mayor Mercado, awarded two young boxers with Down syndrome. Their coach, Obed Aguilar, encouraged those in attendance to give greater visibility to boxers with disabilities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
