The World Boxing Council welterweight champion, Mario \u201cAzteca\u201d Barrios, will face Ryan Garcia\u00a0this coming February 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.<\/div>\n

Mario Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs)\u00a0enters this commitment following a period of consolidation at 147 pounds. After capturing the interim title in 2023 by defeating Yordenis Ug\u00e1s and defending it against Fabi\u00e1n Maidana, Barrios was elevated to undisputed champion following Terence Crawford’s departure from the division.<\/div>\n

His last two defenses ended in draws: first against Abel Ramos in November 2024 and, most recently, this past July against the Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao.<\/div>\n

For his part, Ryan Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs)\u00a0seeks redemption after a turbulent year. Garcia returns to the ring following a defeat against Rolando Romero last May.<\/div>\n

Both warriors successfully met the 7-day pre-weigh-in\u00a0established by the WBC. Barrios tipped the scales at 150.6 pounds, while Garcia registered 159.4 pounds.<\/div>\n
