After four years of tireless work, \u201cR\u00f3mpete la madre\u201d (Give it Your All), the debut film by director Daniela Uriza, was presented in Mexico City. More than just a sports documentary, the film is a human X-ray that vindicates the place of women in a world that, historically, was not designed for them.
\nDuring the premiere, producer and promoter Mariana Caballero recalled the sport’s historical debt: from Laura Serrano\u2019s struggle in the 1980s to the official opening in 1999. The documentary pays tribute to figures such as Ana Mar\u00eda Torres and Jackie Nava, who pushed the door open so that today\u2019s protagonists\u2014Ibeth \u201cRoca\u201d Zamora, Lupita Mart\u00ednez, and Camilla Panatta\u2014could consolidate their legacy.
\nThe film stands out for its refusal to romanticize sacrifice. Lupita Mart\u00ednez, former world champion and mother, shows her reality without filters: the frustration of unjust decisions and the pain of missed birthdays. “The hardest blows are received outside the ring,” Lupita stated. For her, every belt is not a trophy, but the justification to her children for the time boxing took away from her.
\nFor her part, director Daniela Uriza defined the project not as a political manifesto, but as an act of humanity: \u201cIt\u2019s not poster-board feminism; it\u2019s love. Love for the craft that ends up being stronger than hate.\u201d
\nWorld Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n celebrated the work’s title as an expression of Mexican identity and an engine of resilience. “‘Romperse la madre’ is not a profanity; it is a cultural X-ray. It powerfully describes this experience and is an inspiration to understand that if you give it your all, you will have success,” declared Sulaim\u00e1n, confirming that the WBC will take this message to international latitudes to motivate new generations.
\n\u201cR\u00f3mpete la madre\u201d will hit Cinemex theaters on Thursday, February 19. The documentary’s stay in theaters will depend on the public’s response during its first two weeks; therefore, fans and the general public are invited to support this story of “champions of life.”<\/p>\n
