Tribute to Ricky Hatton at the WBC 2025 Annual Convention<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0The World Boxing Council will pay a heartfelt tribute at the annual Convention, this year in Bangkok, to former super lightweight champion Ricky \u201cHitman\u201d Hatton, who passed away in September of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Ricky, an icon of British boxing and a two-division world champion, left a legacy defined by his aggressive style, his connection with fans, and his immense popularity in both Europe and the United States. His fights against Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao are considered essential chapters of modern boxing history.<\/span><\/p>\n

The WBC has prepared a special segment within its program to honor his career, his impact, and the unique bond he shared with the public. A commemorative ceremony will be held during the Convention to highlight his accomplishments, his personality inside and outside the ring, and his unwavering competitive spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

This tribute aims not only to celebrate the champion, but also to recognize a man who transcended the sport and who, until his final days, remained an ambassador for boxing worldwide.
