\u00a0This week\u2019s Martes de Cafe featured a video recap of the thrilling fight between Mexican boxers Lourdes \u201cLul\u00fa\u201d Ju\u00e1rez and Y\u00e9sica Nery Plata.<\/span><\/p>\n

Y\u00e9sica shared her thoughts:<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cAs always, it\u2019s a pleasure to be here with you. I thank God for allowing both Lul\u00fa and me to finish the fight safely. We gave the war we promised\u2014there\u2019s always a war when Mexicans step into the ring.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Lourdes added:<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cGood afternoon, everyone. I\u2019m grateful to God and happy to have given a fight that the fans enjoyed. As a boxer, that\u2019s one of our goals. I\u2019m thankful and eager to keep moving forward.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Media questions<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Lourdes, would you consider giving Y\u00e9sica a rematch?<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cOf course. I\u2019m always open to any fight. I\u2019d just like to see what options come up before stepping back into the ring with her.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Y\u00e9sica, are you still with MVP?<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cYes, I\u2019m still with MVP. My inactivity was due to not having a promoter, but now that I do, I\u2019ll be more active and keep chasing my goal of becoming world champion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Lul\u00fa, is there anyone in particular you\u2019d like to fight?<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cAs I\u2019ve said, I\u2019d love to become flyweight champion. If Gabriela Fundora gives me the opportunity, I\u2019d be thrilled. I\u2019d also like to unify at light flyweight and face Evelyn Berm\u00fadez.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Y\u00e9sica, strictly speaking from a boxing standpoint, what do you think was missing?<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cI\u2019m happy with my performance. I respect the decision that was made\u2014it\u2019s time to turn the page.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2014Lul\u00fa, what do you think made the difference for you to win?<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cAs Y\u00e9sica mentioned, we both gave a great fight. I think I was just a bit more aggressive, and now it\u2019s time to enjoy the moment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

WBC President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n spoke about what could come next for both fighters:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, we\u2019ll give them their space\u2014they deserve a good rest. We\u2019re very proud of both of them. This matchup has all the elements for a rematch, both in sporting and regulatory terms, and fans would love to see it again. It\u2019s also possible that Lul\u00fa faces Fundora. Next month, during our Annual Convention, we\u2019ll review all mandatory fights and consider new proposals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
