We are just a few days away from commemorating 100 years of Jack Dempsey being crowned world heavyweight champion by defeating Jess Willard on July 4, 1919.<\/p>\n

These days we will be remembering some important facts about Boxing’s most hard hitting and spectacular division.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jack Kearns, whose real name was John Patrick Leo McKearns, is considered one of the most skilled, astute, flamboyant \u00a0and knowledgeable managers who have existed and prospered in boxing.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He was born on August 17, 1882 in Waterloo, Michigan and died on July 7, 1963. He was the one who took Jack Dempsey to the world heavyweight championship, to idolatry in North America, and to helped him to earn a heck of a lot of money.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Kearns was nicknamed “Doc” and he developed plus nurtured \u00a0six world champions. Frankly, the cream of the crop…or any harvest! Jack Dempsey, Benny Leonard, Mickey Walker, Jackie Fields, Archie Moore and Joey Maxim.<\/p>\n
