Carlos \u201cTriple C\u201d Ca\u00f1izales: \u201cI Trust the WBC, and That\u2019s Why I\u2019m Returning to Thailand\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WBC minimumweight (108 lbs) champion Carlos \u201cTriple C\u201d Ca\u00f1izales defended his decision to return to Thailand for his next title defense during the World Boxing Council Convention.<\/p>\n

Ca\u00f1izales announced he signed a controversial contract to face local fighter Thammanoon \u201cKnockout CPF\u201d Niyomtrong (28\u20111) on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Bangkok.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was drawn to returning to Thailand first because of the WBC Convention. Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n is involved, a very serious man in his work. This motivated me to come back, and I\u2019m sure this time it will be fair,\u201d the Venezuelan said.<\/p>\n

Ca\u00f1izales added that there had been discussions about defending his title in Venezuela, but no formal offer was ever made. He also revealed changes in his professional team: he extended his relationship with Mexican promoter Producciones Deportivas and partnered with Venezuela Top Boxing as part of his management team. Consequently, he ended his relationship with manager Williams P\u00e9rez, who had guided him since the beginning of his career.<\/p>\n

Regarding past history, Ca\u00f1izales had already contested the title in Thailand against former champion Panya Pradabsri last December. That fight generated controversy due to a decision in favor of the local fighter that many considered questionable (114\u2011114 \/ 113\u2011115 \/ 112\u2011116).<\/p>\n

With a record of 28 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw (20 KOs), Ca\u00f1izales is fully focused on his upcoming bout against Niyomtrong.<\/p>\n
