Merhy and Niang to Contest WBC Africa Title<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The fighter from Ivory Coast, Ryad Merhy, will return to the ring, with the task of facing \u00a0the Senegalese knockout artist Gora Niang on October 18th at the Centre Sportif du Blocry in Louvain La Neuve, Belgium.<\/p>\n

At stake is the prestigious WBC Africa Heavyweight belt.<\/p>\n

Merhy comes into this bout after defeating Andrej Pesic by technical knockout in 4 rounds last June.<\/p>\n

Niang, who has won all his fights by knockout, enters this contest after finishing off Prince George Akrong in 2 rounds.<\/p>\n

This fight is part of the celebration of the Year of Africa; earlier this year, the World Boxing Council and the African Boxing Union named 2025 as the Year of Africa.<\/p>\n
