Bruce Carrington, known in the boxing world as “Shu Shu,” has reached a significant and magnificent milestone in his career by winning the interim World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight title.<\/p>\n

On July 26, 2025, Carrington defeated Brazil’s Mateus Heita by unanimous decision in a bout in Madison Square Garden in New York. The judges scored the fight 120-108, 119-109, and 119-109 in favor of the American, who showed superior technical and tactical skills throughout the twelve absorbing rounds.<\/p>\n

Born on April 17, 1997, in Brooklyn, New York, Carrington started his boxing journey at a young age. His amateur career was remarkable, with an impressive record of 255 wins and 31 losses. Among his most notable achievements are winning the New York Golden Gloves in 2017 and the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2020.<\/p>\n

After the postponement of the Tokyo Olympic Games due to the pandemic, Carrington decided to turn professional. He made his debut on October 9, 2021, at the Fury vs. Wilder III event, where he secured a victory by decision in a four-round bout.<\/p>\n

Since his debut, Carrington has racked up important victories that have propelled him up the world rankings. In March 2025, he successfully defended his NABF and WBO Inter-Continental titles by defeating Enrique Vivas via a third-round technical knockout.<\/p>\n
