Mexican boxing faced a new challenge when Jaime Mungu\u00eda was flagged for a possible doping case, generating controversy in the boxing world and concern among fans and sports authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The situation highlighted the importance of anti-doping controls and the potential impact such cases can have on the career of an up-and-coming champion.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Martes de Caf\u00e9, after exhaustive tests \u2014including blood, hair, and even polygraph tests\u2014 it was announced that Jaime Mungu\u00eda was cleared of any sanctions and ready to return to the ring. The initial positive result was caused by contaminated dietary supplements, not by any deliberate action by the boxer.<\/span><\/p>\n

WBC President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n commented on the case:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, the immediate reaction is to point fingers at the athlete, but everyone has the right to a full investigation and to defend themselves. The way Jaime and his team handled the situation is an example. The WBC protocol investigation determined that Jaime Mungu\u00eda is not guilty. On behalf of the World Boxing Council and the Clean Boxing Committee, your innocence has been proven.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Jaime Mungu\u00eda expressed his relief and commitment:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am very happy to hear this news. I am glad to prove my innocence. I have always been a clean person and athlete. We will move forward with my career, seek great fights, and God willing, one day we will become WBC world champions. I want to clarify that I only train and work with Eddy Reinoso; he is not responsible for anything. I also appreciate his support.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Q&A session, promoter Fernando Beltr\u00e1n mentioned that Mungu\u00eda had a reserved spot on Sa\u00fal \u201cCanelo\u201d \u00c1lvarez\u2019 fight card, but due to this incident the bout did not materialize; however, a new date is being sought. Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n also noted that a fight with WBC interim super middleweight champion Cristian Mbilli was explored, but it could not be finalized.<\/span><\/p>\n

With this announcement, Jaime Mungu\u00eda resumes his clean boxing path, leaving controversy behind and looking forward to new opportunities to continue building his legacy in the sport.<\/span><\/p>\n
