{"id":161717,"date":"2025-08-20T20:12:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T02:12:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/?p=161717"},"modified":"2025-08-21T14:37:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-21T20:37:23","slug":"wbc-ratings-appeal-submitted-by-serhii-bohachuk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/en\/wbc-ratings-appeal-submitted-by-serhii-bohachuk\/","title":{"rendered":"WBC Ratings Appeal Submitted by Serhii Bohachuk\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>WBC Ratings Appeal Submitted by Serhii Bohachuk\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The World Boxing Council has received a ratings appeal by promoter Tom Loeffler concerning Super Welterweight boxer Serhii Bohachuk.\u00a0\u00a0The WBC has referred the appeal to the WBC Ratings Appeals Committee for evaluation and ruling.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Loeffler&#8217;s appeal was directed to the Chairman of the WBC Ratings Committee, and reads as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dear Dean<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m writing to you about Serhii Bohachuk world rating<\/p>\n<p>He fought an official eliminator for the mandatory position against Ishmael Davis in Riyadh last year. He has been patiently waiting for the mandatory to be ordered.<\/p>\n<p>He has been staying active and is scheduled to fight Brandon Adam\u2019s on the big September 13 Canelo Crawford show.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest ratings I noticed that Jaron Ennis was put in at #1 above Serhii, now at #2. \u00a0That doesn\u2019t make sense if Serhii is the mandatory challenger. \u00a0It also doesn\u2019t make sense as Jaron Ennis has never fought in the 154 pound division yet. \u00a0A third reason it doesn\u2019t make sense is that Jaron Ennis is fighting for an official WBA elimination fight in his next fight. \u00a0I thought the WBC rules take fighters out of the ratings that fight for an eliminator for a different organization<\/p>\n<p>Here is an article with quotes from Eddie Hearn talking about the WBA official eliminator<\/p>\n<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/eddie-hearn-insists-jaron-ennis-154-pound-debut-against-uisma-lima-is-legit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/eddie-hearn-insists-jaron-ennis-154-pound-debut-against-uisma-lima-is-legit<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n<p>In light of the above mentioned points, I would respectfully request the ratings committee to restore Serhii Bohachuk to his rightful rating at #1 as the mandatory challenger to the champion<\/p>\n<p>Thank you<\/p>\n<p>Tom&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The WBC\u2019s ratings appeal procedure, has, since the year 2000, mirrored the ratings appeal requirements of the USA\u2019s \u201cMuhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act\u201d, which reads as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6307c.
