Recognition for Pepe and Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n from the Alfredo Harp Hel\u00fa Foundation for Sports<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Olympic medalist Daniel Aceves Villagr\u00e1n highlighted the great work done by the late Don Jos\u00e9, father of both.<\/p>\n

Brothers Jos\u00e9 and Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n Sald\u00edvar received a commemorative medal from the Alfredo Harp Hel\u00fa Foundation for Sports, among the “100 Personalities of Tamaulipas Sports,” in homage to their father, Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

Dr. Daniel Aceves Villagr\u00e1n, Director of the Alfredo Harp Hel\u00fa Foundation for Sports, presented the insignia to both sons of Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n (RIP) as an eternal tribute and as recognition for one of the great icons and promoters of sports in the region.<\/p>\n

During the traditional “Martes de Caf\u00e9” organized by the World Boxing Council, Aceves Villagr\u00e1n emphasized that “undoubtedly, Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Chagnon will always be” among the 100 most outstanding personalities in Tamaulipas sports.<\/p>\n

Aceves Villagr\u00e1n highlighted that the Alfredo Harp Hel\u00fa Foundation has conducted national tours with various authorities from all three levels of government. One such tour took place two weeks ago in Tamaulipas, with the presence of municipal presidents from Tampico, Altamira, Ciudad Victoria, and surrounding municipalities.<\/p>\n

“There, based on the entire history of sports in the region, those who had made a transcendental contribution to Mexican sports at various times and disciplines were honored. Great figures from basketball, soccer, athletics, and Olympians were present, but the name of Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Chagnon (born in Tampico) always held a particular prominence,” noted Aceves Villagr\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

“That’s why today I want to take advantage of this extraordinary setting to present to Mauricio, and to you, as you have always represented him with all dignity, love, and honesty, this recognition that is for him,” Aceves Villagr\u00e1n stated.<\/p>\n

Finally, he praised the great work and efforts that Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n has undertaken as President of the World Boxing Council to bring boxing back to the program of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n
