Friday will signify an unprecedented and historic moment in women’s boxing.as Ireland’s Katie Taylor (24-1, 6KO) and Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31KO) will star in the third chapter of their epic trilogy at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.<\/p>\n

It will be a day to forever remember, as the first time in the Garden’s history that an all-female fight card will take place. Blooming and flourishing marvelous!<\/p>\n

The event, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), will be broadcast live on Netflix and will headline a stellar card composed exclusively of women.<\/p>\n

High-level boxing activity continues on Saturday, July 12. PROBOX will present an elimination bout at 108 pounds. Erick Badillo faces Gerardo Zapata at the Save Mate Arena in Fresno, California. On the same day, but at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, Golden Boy closes out the event with a spectacular card, where Alberto Puello and Shakur Stevenson defend their super lightweight and lightweight belts, respectively.<\/p>\n

Also in a fight with reserved predictions, Hamzah Sheeraz and Edgar Berlanga will compete in a WBC super middleweight eliminator.<\/p>\n

World Boxing Council (WBC) Titles at Stake:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Katie Taylor (24-1, 6KO) vs. Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31KO) Trilogy: Taylor’s undisputed WBC super lightweight crown will be on the line. Taylor won the two previous bouts; the first on April 30, 2022, by split decision, and the most recent on November 15, 2024, when the Irish fighter prevailed by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

Both boxers had previously faced each other in 2018, but Zarika was the victor on that occasion. “Yeimi” has successfully defended her championship 7 times. Scotney, 27, is the current WBO and IBF super bantamweight champion.<\/p>\n

Cherneka Johnson (17-2, 7KO) vs. Shurretta Metcalf (14-4, 2KO): Australia’s Johnson and the USA’s Metcalf will dispute the vacant WBC bantamweight title. Cherneka Johnson replaces Denmark’s Dina Thorslund, who is pregnant, to face Shurretta Metcalf. Thorslund was designated as WBC champion in recess due to her maternity.<\/p>\n

Chantelle Cameron (20-1, 8KO) vs. Jessica Camara (14-4-1, 3KO): They will contend for the interim WBC super lightweight title. Britain’s Cameron is the boxer who handed Katie Taylor her only defeat, which was in May 2023. Now Cameron will defend her interim title against Canada’s Camara in a key bout for the future of the division.<\/p>\n
