\u00a0The Year of Africa: Souleymane Cissokho and Egidijus Kavaliauskas ready and steady!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Souleymane Cissokho, originally from Dakar, Senegal, and World Boxing Council Silver Welterweight Champion, will defend his title for the second time against Egidijus Kavaliauskas in a bout that will also be an eliminator, on May 10 at the Sipopo Conference Centre in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n

Cissokho was originally scheduled to face Kavaliauskas in December of last year, but a broken wrist sidelined the Senegalese fighter.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that 2025 would be the Year of Africa. A year in which the continent’s achievements, history, and champions will be honored.<\/p>\n

This celebration has featured several important events, the most recent being the fight between WBC Bridger champion Kevin Lerena, who retained his title by defeating Serhiy Radchenko.<\/p>\n

This Friday, both warriors passed the official weigh-in without any problems, weighing in at just under 147 pounds, and are ready for this card, part of the Year of Africa.<\/p>\n

The supervisor of this fight will be ABU President and WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.<\/p>\n
