Saul \u2018\u2019Canelo\u2019\u2019 Alvarez aims to once again become Undisputed Super-Middleweight Champion by fighting IBF Champion William \u2018\u2019Indomable\u2019\u2019 Scull at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 3<\/span>rd<\/span>, during Mexican Cinco de Mayo Weekend, in his first foray outside the Continent of the Americas.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It`s the initial opening segment of a four- fight deal signed on February 7<\/span>th<\/span>, with the General Entertainment Authority, led by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, and it`s reputedly worth four hundred million dollars.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Saudi Boxing Pioneer and innovator boldly stated: \u2018\u2019Don`t mess with the lion. Four fights for Canelo with Riyadh Season. The deal is done. A lion doesn`t sleep over the opinion of a sheep. Fear the lion, not the jungle.\u2019\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A very nice golden nest egg for Canelo, who has already built and crafted considerable wealth, burgeoning and flourishing from a modest beginning, via utilizing his phenomenal talents and astute business acumen.\u00a0 As the saying goes: \u2018\u2019A bite from a lion is much better than a look of envy.\u2019\u2019 So much has he achieved, since being part of the fledgling class of 2008 with Ring Telmex!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some would say that Canelo has a stubborn streak. He certainly does things his way, only when he`s good and ready and\u2026not until.\u00a0 Yet, his strategy has served him very well indeed, during his career, propelling him to wealth and super-stardom. Boxing Smart!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, he vacated the IBF portion of his title and the opportunity to fight William Scull then. Instead, he fought and defeated Edgar Belanga. Before any of this, he has to take on Berlin based William Scull. Canelo stresses that he NEVER underestimates any opponent.\u00a0 Nor does Eddy Reynoso, his long-time Coach and Manager, who cautions: \u2018\u2019Scull is very dangerous. He`s tall, strong and explosive. He goes all out in the first five rounds and gives it his all.\u00a0 He`s a slippery fighter with great defensive technique.\u00a0 He doesn`t know defeat, he`s a world champion and you have to give him respect.\u2019\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

William himself is counting on a down to earth approach, trying to humanize an icon, by stating: \u2018\u2019Canelo has two hands, he doesn`t have three or four\u2026that`s when you have to get scared.\u00a0 He is a boxer who has a name, a Legend who has to be respected, but he has nothing else.\u2019\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It won`t be that long before William discovers if this is true first hand. Facts are facts. Aged thirty-four, Canelo is two years older than him. But the differential between their experience, versatility and achievements forms a vast sandbar gulf.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Canelo`s debut was in 2005. His record is 62-2-2, 39 KO`s. His KO percentage is 62.9 percent. He has fought 508 rounds and won world championships in four weight divisions, namely: super-welter, middleweight, super-middle and light-heavyweight.\u00a0 William`s pro debut was in 2016. His record is 23-0, 9KO`s. That`s a KO record of 39.13 percent. He`s fought 144 rounds. He is the International Boxing Federation super-middleweight champion.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From what I`ve seen, William is an in your face, aggressive fighter. He likes landing a left to the body, then going upstairs with a big right and his right uppercut is particularly dangerous and effective although he sparingly uses it.\u00a0 He does tend to lower his hands, but brings them back up when in range.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

He was easily winning his fight with Wladimir Shishkin in Falkensee, Germany but in the twelve his concentration lapsed and he got caught with a punch cluster, so he clinched for dear life. For some moments, he looked shaken, unsure, unsteady, under the cosh and pressured, although he came through some rather worrying moments.\u00a0 William stands five feet eleven and a half inches tall and has a seventy-six inches reach. While Canelo is five feet seven inches tall and his reach is almost six inches less. Yet\u2026he`s more than accustomed to fighting taller and rangier fighters, often softening them up with searing liver shots.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It`s been six fights since Canelo stopped an opponent and five since William won via KO. Canelo has canvassed Ryder, Charlo, Munguia and Berlanga, but he hasn`t been able to make it stick.\u00a0 Now is the time to again become a finisher.\u00a0 While his opponent also desires to deliver a: \u2018\u2019Just William\u2019\u2019 punctuating point.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

William Scull possesses considerable upper body strength. He`s durable, but will he prove dangerous?\u00a0 Unlikely that he`ll use reach, stick and run. Up to now, this just hasn`t been his style. Canelo who isn`t that fleet of foot, does effectively cut off the ring and will be glad if he doesn`t have to go looking for his Cuban opponent in a running race.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the start of this Big Deal, Canelo really needs a spectacular Knockout Victory to earn his corn.\u00a0 As for William, he seeks\u00a0 to prove a point, via taking the high ground.\u00a0 Skulduggery isn`t an option!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Canelo fought elusive hard- hitting southpaw Erislandy Lara who was also Cuban, way back in 2014. It was am exacting, difficult and different test, but apart from nationality, he and William don`t have that much in common style-wise.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Canelo has financially hit the jackpot. Now he needs to pot-shot. While William seeks to achieve a long-shot, and in so doing spring one helluva werewolf shock.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
