World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (20-1, 18 KO’s) will defend his crown against Dominic Breazeale (20-1, 18 KO’s) on May 18 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wilder will be aiming for his 40th KO against Breazeale, who is super motivated by the opportunity to contest for the world championship.<\/p>\n

“Everyone wants to see the fight with Joshua, but first I have to take care of Breazeale. I’m excited to get back into the ring. I am the man to beat in the heavyweight division. There is no other fighter doing what I have done,” \u00a0commented the champion.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The long-awaited heavyweight fight is scheduled to headline the Premier Boxing Champions telecast on Showtime Championship Boxing. Breazeale’s last fight was impressive, as he defeated previously unbeaten Puerto Rican Olympian Carlos Negron by knockout in the ninth round, in a nationally televised event.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Much has changed since Negron’s fight last December, as Breazeale made a significant change in his career by hiring world-renowned trainer Virgil Hunter.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“I really think it was a great move to change with Virgil,” Breazeale said, adding: “Virgil was a great choice, since the first day of training, I realized that it was a great decision as he pointed out some things I had to work on and here we are 10 weeks later, ready for the biggest fight of my life”.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No real secret that there`s bad blood between Breazeale and Wilder, so we can expect an explosive fight.<\/p>\n
