Pradabsri defeats Ca\u00f1izales in a close fight<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Thai Panya Pradabsri defeated Venezuelan Carlos Ca\u00f1izales, winning the vacant World Boxing Council light flyweight world title this Thursday at the Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.<\/p>\n

The fight was close with alternating dominance by both fighters. The Judges gave the victory to the Thai with scores on the cards of 116-112, 115-113 and 114-114.<\/p>\n

WBC President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n said on his social networks:<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a sensational close fight Pradabsri is awarded a majority decision in Thailand,\u201d Sulaiman wrote on X. \u201cCa\u00f1izales is a warrior who fought his heart out. I am disappointed at the performance of the WBC Judges in specific rounds and I will order an immediate review by the corresponding committee. WBC ring officials are accountable for their performance.”<\/p>\n
