The holidays are upon us<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>1- Never go to an event or dinner hungry<\/p>\n<p>2- if an afternoon or early evening event make sure to use healthy snacks that satiate appetite before the event like 2 afternoon snacks of 1 fruit and 12 almonds or a more convenient choice \u2026 2 split nutrition packets<\/p>\n<p>3- Use additional protein snack choices in the afternoon as well like a hardboiled egg or an additional 2 oz of protein with a veggie like tomato \u2026<\/p>\n<p>4- So\u2026. Go into your holiday events and dinners satiated and semi-full \u2026 so you \u201cnibble\u201d on things \u2026 so that you \u201clook\u201d like you are participating in the holiday food frenzy<\/p>\n<p>5- better snack choices at the parties \u2014 sliced veggies \u2026 smoked salmon\u2026 not cured salmon because of the risk of added sugar while curing the meat\u2026fresh guacamole dip with veggies \u2026 shrimp \u2026 not coconut fried lol !! But steamed grilled etc\u2026 limit the sauces \u2026 or no sauces \u2026 believe it or not a devilled egg isn\u2019t such a bad choice either \u2026. But absolutely no cheeeeeezeeeeeeeee.. No phlegm \u2026. And if drinking \u2026. If its wine or champagne \u2014 remember \u2013 three glasses of water for every glass of fermented alcohol you drink to manage the yeast mold and sugars \u2026 the better choices are distilled spirits like vodka and tequila \u2026 one ingredient alcohols \u2026. Keep your water up!! Remember minimally \u00bd your body weight in water \u2026. And if active \u2026 up to your full body weight in water \u2026 drink out of liters because they are easy to count \u2026 33 oz per liter \u20263 liters = 100 oz \u2026 duuuuhhhh\u2026. Ect\u2026\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>6- Remember you get 1 free meal weekly. So DO NOT \u2026 NOT eat your holiday meal \u2026 but don\u2019t skip meals or snacks beforehand to compensate for your holiday meal\u2026 Go in full and satisfied. Eat a little bit of each thing. Enjoy \u2026\u2026. It\u2019s the holidays \u2026 there are 52 weeks in a year \u2026 don\u2019t punish yourself. Remember your food plan \u2026 if you expect it to be successful \u2014 has to be sustainable \u2026.additionally.. if you don\u2019t have your holiday meal \u2013 or birthday meal \u2013 or anniversary meal . whatever \u2026\u2026 you will be so pissed you restricted yourself that the next day you will wake up and eat the entire bowl of stuffing or pie or cake or . Whatever \u2026. But you will do it. And then \u2014\u2014\u2014- yep\u2026 feel like shit\u2026\u2026.so don\u2019t restrict inappropriately \u2026\u2026 do maintain a sustainable food pattern. Practice self-care\u2026 Be unreasonable with your expectations. Like drinking your water\u2014 get it in!! Use ritual patterns to stay on point with your snacks \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026 forecast your holiday meals \u2026. And parties<\/p>\n<p>7- Remember the 1 bite rule \u2026\u2026. If you\u2019re craving something \u2026\u2026. Take a bite. That\u2019s reasonable. Just to experience the flavor. Like the first swig of beer is the best swig\u2026 After that you are just \u201cchasing the dragon\u201d and careful\u2026 If you\u2019re three bites into it\u2026 Chances are you will eat the entire\u2026\u2026.. . Whatever \u2014- remember that every choice has a consequence \u2026\u2026\u2026. An apple pie is not an apple \u2026\u2026. Rice at dinner with your salmon \u2013 doesn\u2019t turn into salmon \u2014- its still rice \u2026.
