After returning to the path of victory by defeating the tough Carlos Dos Santos in the USA, Mexican prospect Gustavo Rivera-R\u00edo traveled to the south of Mexico City to be part of our Coffee Tuesday and relate his recent victory and his upcoming plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany thanks to the World Boxing Council and all the media for the invitation. I am coming from a fight, from a real war. It was not the first round that I would have liked to have because I was sent to the canvas.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cFifteen years of fighting, more than 100 amateur fights and I had never been in that position. This was my golden opportunity to show what I am made of as a boxer and as a person.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cMexican fighters have a lot of grit and that is part of our culture. I got up to win and I promise you that is what I will do every time I return to the ring: give my best and look a little better.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very important to keep your feet on the ground, stay humble and calm. Every time you get into the ring you have to give it your all. The sport of boxing is my passion and my dream is to become a world champion\u2026 I will not stop working, training, practicing and learning to make my dream a reality.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
