Jacobs, 37, ended a nearly two-and-a-half-year hiatus from boxing earlier this month, but lost a unanimous decision to Shane Mosley Jr. in Anaheim, California.<\/div>\n

Jacobs, of Brooklyn, New York, retires with a record of 37-5, 30 knockouts, including a 2018 win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko, to win a world middleweight title.<\/div>\n

\u201cI announce my retirement. I want to show my gratitude and appreciation for the sport of boxing, as it has changed my life in ways I could never imagine, it has instilled in me so many morals and values \u200b\u200bthat I would not have learned otherwise.
