Superfly- A Thriller Division\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The super flyweight division (115 pounds and 52,163 kilograms) was created\u00a0 during the 1979 World Boxing Council Convention and the first fight held at this weight took place on February 1, 1980 in Caracas, Venezuela, when Rafael Orono defeated Seung Hoon Lee by unanimous decision in a 15-round match.<\/p>\n

This division has been historic, with great world champions for more than forty years. Sung Kil Moon, Masamori Tokuyama, Gilberto Rom\u00e1n, In Joo Cho, Johnny Tapia, Gerry Pe\u00f1aloza, Cristian Mijares, to name but a few.<\/p>\n

In recent times this division has caused great expectation among fans, as it has given us electrifying fights.<\/p>\n

In 2017, \u00a0Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai defeated Nicaraguan Rom\u00e1n \u201cChocolatito\u201d Gonz\u00e1lez by majority decision, in one of the best fights of the year. That same year in the rematch, Sor Rungvisai surprisingly knocked him out in the fourth round.<\/p>\n

In 2018 Srisaket defended his title in a great fight against Mexican Juan Francisco \u201cGallo\u201d Estrada, defeating him by majority decision. The following year, Sor Rungvisai granted Estrada a rematch, but on that occasion everything was different. Estrada won the Green and Gold Belt, clearly dominating the fight.<\/p>\n

In 2020\u00a0 a truly memorable fight between Mexicans. \u201cGallo\u201d Estrada defended his title in a close fight against former champion Carlos Cuadras, becoming one of the best fights of the year.<\/p>\n

In 2021 another long-awaited rematch took place. \u201cGallo\u201d Estrada fought against Rom\u00e1n \u201cChocolatito\u201d Gonz\u00e1lez, in an exciting match in which the Mexican won.<\/p>\n

In 2022, after a pause in \u201cGallo\u201d Estrada`s career, Jesse Rodr\u00edguez and Carlos Cuadras competed for the vacant title. That night Jesse surprised the world, as he dominated an experienced champion\u00a0 Cuadras, to be crowned super flyweight champion. Later, Jesse demonstrated his great quality by defending his title by technically knocking out former Thai world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in eight rounds.<\/p>\n

That same year, Jesse decided to go down to the flyweight division to look for new challenges, leaving the title vacant, which was contested by Juan Francisco Estrada and Rom\u00e1n Gonz\u00e1lez.<\/p>\n

The fight took place in Glendale, Arizona, and\u00a0 unfurled into a classic. That night Estrada took the victory, in a fight where both fighters demonstrated great qualities and their enormous heart.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, June 29, Juan Francisco \u201cGallo\u201d Estrada will face Jesse \u2018Bam\u2019 Rodr\u00edguez at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, in a highly anticipated fight that will be broadcast on DAZN.<\/p>\n
