One day before \u00a0the opening bell rings, signaling Sa\u00fal \u00c1lvarez and Jaime Mungu\u00eda to box, RING TELMEX-TELCEL Director, Doctor Rogelio Herrera Echauri looks back in time and remembers the appealing and engaging arrival of \u201cCanelo\u201d and Munguia to the Foundation Program TELMEX-TELCEL.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is already 16 years into the life of the Program, and how can we not remember when \u201cCanelo\u201d came to this initiative, and was starting his professional career, becoming the greatest figure in the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt that time, no one could imagine just how far \u201cCanelo\u201d and Mungu\u00eda would go with million-dollar salaries. \u00a0Now, both will collide head-on, thanks to their work, endeavor, performances and dedication.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreat memories\u2026 I feel satisfied with the work done and being part of this extraordinary journey\u2026 Great results have been achieved throughout these almost 16 years and, now, seeing two successful former \u00a0Ring Telmex Telcel members facing each other on a great international card, I am full of pride,\u201d Herrera Echauri enthused..<\/p>\n

Herrera Echauri, a boxing fan, always discreet, but willing to serve others in an honorary way, cannot hide his satisfaction for the work of many years and seeing the growth plus development of so many Mexican fighters, both in the amateur and professional spheres.<\/p>\n

Since July 22, 2008, when RING TELMEX-TELCEL was \u00a0created, as an initiative of Mr. Carlos Slim, and World Boxing Council President Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n, the numbers of this program, has generated throughout the world and the experience has been fabulous.<\/p>\n

\u201cA very strong bond is created with the team and over time they become family\u2026 The best dividend for RING TELMEX-TELCEL is to see them succeed, like ‘Canelo’ and Mungu\u00eda\u2026 This makes me think that it has been worth the effort,\u201d pointed out Herrera.<\/p>\n

Regarding his prognosis for this match that has caused a sensation, he was cautious, “I don’t have a favorite… that the best one wins and, as always, that they come out of this battle well, that is the most important thing.”<\/p>\n
