In a historic fight \u00a0for Filipino boxing, Melvin “El Gringo” Jerusalem managed to defeat previously unbeaten Yudai Shigeoka to conquer the World Boxing Council straw-weight \u00a0championship.
\nJerusalem always showed talent, heart and determination, flooring Shigeoka twice with powerful right-hand counter punches in the third and sixth rounds. Despite facing a tough opponent, Jerusalem’s accuracy and stamina earned him the coveted WBC belt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

With this triumph, the Filipino boxer improved his impressive professional record to 22 wins, 3 losses, and 0 draws, with 12 KO\u2019s. Meanwhile, Shigeoka suffered his first career loss, bringing his record to 8 wins and 1 loss, with 5 knockouts.<\/p>\n
