John Ryder announces his retirement<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The 35-year-old British fighter John Ryder has confirmed his retirement from professional boxing through his social networks, after more than 14 years of a magnificent career.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with great regret that I have made the decision to hang up my gloves and retire from professional boxing. I have been absolutely blessed to have the most incredible career over the last 14 years. It started in Bethnal Green in 2010 and ended in Phoenix, Arizona. I have been lucky enough to box everywhere, from the O2 Arena, T-Mobile in Las Vegas, Alexandra Palace, Manchester Arena and even in Guadalajara, Mexico.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ryder finishes his memorable career with a record of 32-7, with 18 knockouts. He last fought on January 27, when he was stopped in nine rounds by Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34KOs). This was his second consecutive loss, having lost a decision last year against Canelo \u00c1lvarez in Mexico, in a so thrilling fight which earned him worldwide admiration and respect. What fortitude, courage and sheer grit!<\/p>\n

The WBC and its President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n wish John much success WITH his future plans. John Ryder is a credit to Boxing.<\/p>\n
