{"id":111253,"date":"2024-02-03T12:07:05","date_gmt":"2024-02-03T18:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/fury-vs-usyk-pospuesto-por-lesion\/"},"modified":"2024-02-03T12:30:14","modified_gmt":"2024-02-03T18:30:14","slug":"fury-vs-usyk-postponed-due-to-injury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/en\/fury-vs-usyk-postponed-due-to-injury\/","title":{"rendered":"Fury vs Usyk postponed due to injury"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Fury vs Usyk postponed due to injury<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, suffered a cut above his right eyebrow in a sparring session, so the fight on February 17, against Oleksandr Usyk, has been postponed.<\/p>\n<p>It was scheduled for February 17 in Saudi Arabia, with DAZN, Sky Sports and TNT Sports distributing the fight on pay-per-view.<\/p>\n<p>The cut opened above Fury&#8217;s right eye and required significant healing, Queensberry Promotions said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Fury is the WBC Heavyweight Champion, while Usyk holds the WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight crowns.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of Fury vs Usyk will become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Fury has won 34 and drawn one of his 35 professional fights, against Deontay Wilder in the first fight of his trilogy in December 2018, while Ukraine&#8217;s Usyk is 21-0.<\/p>\n<p>Usyk has defeated British boxers in his last four fights, with victories over Derek Chisora in 2020 and Daniel Dubois last August, combining successive points victories over Anthony Joshua.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/suljosblog.com\/suljos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/usyk-cut.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-103467 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/suljosblog.com\/suljos\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/usyk-cut.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"429\" height=\"435\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"vimeo-player\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/909507111?h=20af2bcc9b\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block;
