After conquering glory and being the WBC world champion, facing the best fighters of his time, he died in a car accident on August 12, 1982.<\/p>\n<p>2002.- Vernon Forrest retained the WBC welterweight world championship, defeating Californian Shane Mosley by unanimous decision in 12 rounds. The battle was held at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>2013.- Argentine Lucas Matthysse was crowned WBC interim super lightweight champion by knocking out American Mike Dallas Jr. in one round, in a bout that took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>2014.- The WBC held the first Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Champions Race, a unique event where you can run alongside the greatest boxing legends, plus all proceeds go to charity.
