The WBC Receives Emotional Message of Holiness Pope Francis in Honor of Don Jos\u00e9<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During this week we have remembered with love and respect Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n, Lifetime President of the World Boxing Council, ten years after his passing.<\/p>\n

Born in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, he became the most brilliant innovative character in boxing. Mr Boxing.<\/p>\n

However, his legacy goes far beyond the rings, as something that distinguished Don Jos\u00e9 was his passion for serving, helping and lending a hand to those who needed it most. 10 years after his departure, his values, actions and example still and will continue to guide the actions of all of us who are part of the World Boxing Council Family.<\/p>\n

Today, as part of the actions in tribute to Don Jos\u00e9, the WBC and the Sulaim\u00e1n Family received a unique and invaluable gift from His Holiness Pope Francis, who dedicated an emotional message to the memory of our President for life, Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Chagn\u00f3n .<\/p>\n

With great pride and love, we share with you his message:<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that today marks 10 years since the death of Don Jos\u00e9 Sulaim\u00e1n Chagnon. Please, I would like to send greetings to H\u00e9ctor, Mauricio and family. I pray for them and for the Eternal Rest of Don Jos\u00e9.\u201d<\/p>\n

We are more than especially grateful to Pope Francis. His holiness left us with a heart full of energy, motivation and passion to get up every day of our lives with the firm intention of making this world a better place.<\/p>\n
