With great boxing skills, plus fast and precise combinations, the former three-division world champion, Humberto “Zorrita” Soto, defeated former world champion, Brandon “Bam Bam “R\u00edos, by unanimous decision, in a fight presented by Zanfer at the Municipal Auditorium of Tijuana.<\/p>\n

Soto (69-9-2, 37 ko’s) surprised R\u00edos (35-5-1, 26 ko’s) with a great\u00a0 boxing skills. At will, he kept the chopping and changing\u00a0 the pace,\u00a0 distance, angles of his blows in a non stop offensive. He threw jabs at the body, repeat hooks to the liver, and crisp right uppercuts.<\/p>\n

“Bam Bam” pressed with his power shots and put Soto on the ropes, but instead of taking advantage of this situation to repeat combinations, it was the veteran Mexican fighter who connected to fight back effectively.<\/p>\n

At the end of 12 intense and action-packed rounds, Humberto “Zorrita” Soto won a deserved triumph by unanimous decision, with scores of 119-111, and two cards of 118-112. Soto becomes\u00a0 the first Mexican boxer to defeat\u00a0 Brandon Rios, after he had overcome 15 Mexican-born rivals.<\/p>\n
