The WBC super featherweight champion successfully defended his title in a memorable fight, which he snatched out of the fire with a supreme final round surge. Despite being behind on two scorecards, Foster fought hard to knock out the hard hitting Mexican mandatory challenger Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez, who was ahead on points, before walking into a twelfth round maelstrom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Devin Haney vs. Vasily Lomachenko<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Haney defeated the Ukrainian idol Loma by unanimous decision in an extremely close and thrillingly competitive fight. With this victory Devin successfully defended his undisputed lightweight crown for the second time.<\/span><\/p>\n

David Benavidez VS Demetrius Andrade<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cMexican Monster\u201d closed a great year by defeating Andrade via a brilliant performance. The fight only reached the 6th round due to Benavidez’s impressive and overwhelming performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luis Nery VS Azat Hovhannisyan<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cPantera\u201d Nery had to work hard to defeat the tough Armenian. After a close fight, the Mexican impressively persevered to stop\u00a0 Azat in the 11th round.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amanda Serrano VS Erika Cruz<\/strong><\/p>\n

A veritable war involving Puerto Rico vs Mexico. Serrano had to work hard to defeat Cruz, who never stopped moving forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marlene Esparza VS Gabriela Alaniz<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Terence Crawford<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Undefeated with 40 victories including 31 KO’s, former lightweight champion, former undisputed super lightweight champion, and current undisputed welterweight champion.\u00a0 Bud Crawford defeated the then undefeated Errol Spence Jr. via TKO in the ninth to achieve supreme glory at 147 pounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Naoya Inoue<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Undefeated, former light flyweight champion, former super flyweight champion, former undisputed bantamweight champion, current undisputed super bantamweight champion. This 2023 he defeated the previously unbeaten Stephen Fulton to win the WBC crown and became the undisputed 122-pound champion by defeating Marlon “Nightmare” Tapales. \u201cCanelo\u201d remained very active in 2023 with two memorable fights. The first against John Ryder in his long-awaited return home and the second defeating Jermell Charlo in an overwhelming way. He masterfully conserved the undisputed super middleweight championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenshiro Teraji<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

He has become one of the most consistent champions in recent times. After suffering his only defeat in 2021, the Japanese maestro returned to the elite of the sport and in 2023 he defeated Anthony Olascuaga by TKO and then Hekkie Budler also via TKO.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Irish Emerald perfectly embodies the word \u201credemption.\u201d After having been defeated by Chantelle at the beginning of 2023, determined and undeterred, she regrouped, and astutely modified her strategy to avenge her only defeat, to become undisputed champion in two divisions, light and super light. Dina Thorslund<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The fighter from Denmark accelerated her pace in 2023 with the mission of becoming undisputed champion in the bantamweight division. She defeated Debora Anahi L\u00f3pez in February and took the WBC title from Mexican sensation Yuliahn Luna with an emphatic UD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Super Bad Estrada was pretty good and is sitting pretty!\u00a0 She had two important victories in 2023. In March she captured the WBC Straw crown defeating the previously unbeaten Tina Rupprecht with a wide UD. In July she defeated the warrior Leonela Yudica in what was an action-packed hand to hand combat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yesica Nery Plata<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Mexican fighter firmly established herself as light flyweight champion. She first traveled to Canada to take the WBC crown from Kim Clavel. Then again on her travels, this time to Germany to face then-undefeated challenger Sarah Borman, also defeating her, with technical, aggressive and efficiently effective boxing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fighter from Down Under, has quickly fought her way to the top. She fought three excellent fights in 2023; In the first she defeated Linda Lecca on points. A bolt of the blue surprise for many; American Brian Mendoza unleashed a lightning blitz, to sent Sebastian to the canvas in the seventh round in April, crowning himself interim super welterweight champion.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Naoya Inoue KO Stephen Fulton<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The hard hitting Japanese idol defeated Stephen Fulton in the eighth round, in a fight that was held at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, making Naoya the second Japanese four division champion. Inoue recently defended his crown with another forceful KO of Marlon Tapales.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Kenshiro Teraji KO Anthony Olascuaga<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was in the ninth round when Teraji sent his rival to the canvas on April 8; However, that was not his finishing touch performance of the year as the light flyweight champion,\u00a0 because in September he repeated the prescribed dose, this time with the South African Hekkie Budler.<\/span><\/p>\n

She ended the year as world champion… but not before obtaining the WBC World Youth championship, Fundora is becoming a shining star.<\/span><\/p>\n

She had three fights during 2023, closed the year as Interim WBC World Champion at Featherweight and also defended her interim title.<\/span><\/p>\n
