In its tireless search for innovation The World Boxing Council created a series of special and unique belts, in order to reward and recognize the fights that have transcended the history of boxing. A special trophy that Mexico and boxing, award to the fighters who face each other on the two most representative dates for Mexico, May 5 (Battle of Puebla) and September 16 (Independence Day).<\/p>\n
The WBC has worked hand in hand with indigenous communities, highlighting diverse cultures through its Mexican artisans who have transformed the WBC belt into true art forms. Each and every one representing the best of their culture.<\/p>\n
Here and now a new work of art joins this family of belts, and the WBC unveiled the Puebla belt, a jewel created by artisan hands from cultures that merged to create a belt of vibrant colors. with majestic representations of each culture, designed by Ang\u00e9lica Moreno in the Talavera de la Reyna workshop.<\/p>\n
For the development of the belt, two of the most important craft techniques in the State of Puebla were used, talavera and embroidery.<\/p>\n
The embroidery was done by Matilde Ju\u00e1rez, a craftswoman and artist from Puebla who shows through embroidery and applied colors the most representative patterns of different locations in the state of Puebla.<\/p>\n
The talavera frames the belt plate with a traditional, exquisite and ornate Puebla design.<\/p>\n
The feathering which is representative of Puebla, in this edition, \u00a0was done and wonderfully accomplished in black, \u00a0with the intention of depicting and highlighting an ancient design, managing to transmit and preserve And glorify the Puebla tradition.<\/p>\n
Significantly, the Cathedral of Puebla, which is one of the most representative monuments in this beautiful State, \u00a0is prominently portrayed, supported by two soaring angels, who are a focal \u00a0point plus part of the history of \u201cAngelopolis.\u201d<\/p>\n
