Pablo Carrillo became the new champion of the World Boxing Council’s Continental Americas super flyweight title, defeating Rober Barrera by split decision at the Elías Chegwin Coliseum in Colombia.
Carrillo, who spared no effort to hand his rival a fifth professional defeat, starred in one of the best bouts of the evening against Barrera. Pablo ended up closing the victory with a surge.
“Thanks to all the fans who support me and to you for being present. I promised my dad that I was going to give him this belt and here it is. We have fought and all things were given to us thanks to God”, commented the new champion.
