Wilder’s wily trainer expects a cagey Tyson Fury
Jay Deas, trainer of the World Boxing Council’s heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, states they’re good and ready for any cunning plan devised by Tyson Fury and his team.
“The hard part of preparing for Tyson Fury is that even he does not know exactly what he’s going to do up in the ring. He can fight left-handed, straight, dirty or clean, so we’re working to be prepared for every eventuality and more,” commented Deas .
“Tyson is like a Rubik’s cube, but a Rubik’s cube can be solved.Fury is a very versatile fighter who can move, can box and fight from a distance. He’s a complete package as a fighter and he also has a strong mental willpower.”
“It will not be easy, but I know Wilder is the guy who can handle Fury. He’s the right guy to be able to decipher it.
“Deontay has had a fantastic camp and we have had very good sparring partners. He’s a very focused and disciplined man, so controlling Fury mentally is not going to be a problem. Deontay can handle any chaos around him better than anyone I’ve seen. When he says he’s the man for this job, it’s really because that’s the way it will be.”
Both warriors will clash on December 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
