We mourn the passing of Claudette Adonis

The WBC and its President Mauricio Sulaimán are deeply saddened by the death of Claudette Adonis, mother of our beloved champion Adonis Stevenson.

Claudette, who passed away at the age of 75, was a great pillar for her son’s successful career and when he had an accident against Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk in the ring, she gave him all her time and support for his Recovery.

Doctors feared that Stevenson would never be the same, but miraculously he has made a great recovery and always had the loving care and attention of his mother.

We send to Claudette’s family and friends our deepest condolences at this very difficult and sad time.

May she rest in eternal peace.
