
Enza Jacoponi has opened a window to Europe for the World Boxing Council, spanning almost sixty years!
This encompasses almost the entire history of the World Boxing Council, which was founded just one year earlier. Enza has amassed decades of experience in our sport. Here is her profile and her story:
She joined the WBC when started working at the European Boxing Union in January 1964. The EBU was one of the founders of the WBC.
Enza was appointed member of the WBC Governors when was elected EBU General Secretary, taking the place of the former, Piero Pini, who retired due illness.
She was elected EBU General Secretary in June 1990, at the EBU General Assembly in Paris.
The EBU, with its 37 European Countries, is a very important part of the WBC since it develops and promotes the European professional boxing taking care to respect the medical and boxing rules. The European boxers have a great participation in the world of boxing.
The EBU, through the leadership of Enza Jacoponi, has given great importance on taking care of the fighters inside and outside the ring and have always addressed sports and medical rules improvement on the benefit of the fighters.
