Morgan McDonald who coaches and mentors children at the Lucy Laney Boxing Academy, which is integrated into a school, is presented with a Hero of Humanity Award.
Morgan epitomizes the finest tradition of guidance, caring, kindness and the support that the very best boxing coach provides for kids and young people, and the boost via inspiration is especially relevant now. Christiane said: “As adults it`s our job to make kids feel better. WBC Cares has been created as a program for sports and humanity. Morgan is a great example. You`re working to reduce behavior problems by using boxing. We`re proud of you. We want to congratulate you on a terrific job.”
Blanca defines Morgan as a father, coach, mentor and a giver, instrumental in making these kids` lives better, using his college degree qualification in human resources and sport in better developing lives. Blanca also said: “Morgan is on this Earth to lift peoples` spirits and he makes things better. He is a Boxing Angel and one of the most beautiful people I`ve met.”
Morgan explained that he`s an early riser because: “I want to greet everyone with respect and love. There are good people out here. We don`t need bad energy. Sports helps kids in situations and the punching bag helps them get their frustrations out. I want to make sure all the T`s are crossed and the I`s dotted, for the kids to come to school and to make it work. The kids, the school and the community love this, so let`s go for it.”
Shawn praised the initiative, work and caring philosophy of Morgan saying: “You are an amazing human being. You are an absolute blessing. Continue what you are doing.” As a former WBC World Champion, who`ll be a World Champion again, Shawn who`s been helped every step of the way by his father on earth, and our father in Heaven advised the youngsters: “If you can dream it, you can believe it and you can achieve it. If you know the necessary steps, you can do it. This involves hard work, dedication and focus which will equal success. So you know that you did everything you could. School, chores and everything. Focus on what you need to do, before what you want to do.
“Faith is the biggest factor for me. Everything I`ve got comes from God. God has made this possible for me. Have faith in yourself. Faith is believing.
“My dad is my coach and my manager. He`s been here ever since I`ve been here! My dad lives around the corner. I wouldn`t have it any other way. The Country has to learn and grow. If we grow, we`ll improve. Make the change happen. Do what you`re supposed to do, so you can do what you can do.”
