For the President of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, one of the WBC’s greatest concerns is to rescue amateur boxing, promote it in all latitudes, serving as a platform for massive activation nationwide.
He explained that WBC Amateur has been an ambitious program, where spaces have been created, training sessions for young people and children have been promoted, constant training for ring officials, doctors and trainers, tournaments that have catapulted huge prospects, plus visits to gyms.
Tireless and dedicated work that has been possible, thanks to the participation of the entire team that makes up WBC Amateur, with representatives in several countries.
“I want to thank each one of you in a very special way, because bringing this project to success hasn`t been an easy task. However, the passion that each one has brought to this, has produced great results.Today many young people and children have the foundation on which to build and to fulfill their dreams, which is precisely the essence of our sport.
“I ask each of you to continue working through cooperation and respect. My dad was a man who experienced just how difficult it is to get ahead as an amateur boxer and he therefore dedicated his life to transform the sport.
“Our obligation is to continue with that legacy, to work with loyalty, especially for boxers, leaving aside discrepancies, forming the united understanding that we all have the obligation to walk in the same direction with confidence, openness, and above all patience.”
Don`t miss this interesting talk where our guests discussed amateur boxing in their countries and how they are working to continue growing WBC Amateur.
