During life`s most difficult moments, great human beings always meet and complete the challenge to help others.
During the closing ceremony of the 58th Annual Convention, our organization celebrated the 5th Anniversary of the formation of the Pontifical Foundation “Scholas Ocurrentes” of Pope Francis .
Our President Mauricio Sulaiman, called on the boxing family to support the educational programs in Mozambique and Haiti. The “Glove of Peace” program was joined by the WBC champions, Tyson Fury and Saul “Canelo” Álvarez, who signed gloves and various items for this cause.
Ibragim Akdrashev, founder and president of Suleimen Promotions, a company created to continue the memory and dreams of his son Suleimen who unfortunately died at the age of 24, made the donation of $ 20,000 dollars upon receiving the Glove of La Paz sent by Canelo Alvarez. ” There is no better legacy than helping those most in need and leaving an educational seed in them that will make those children better people,” commented Mr. Akdrashev.
He also wrote this message:
Boxing – motivation to be superior.
Boxing – means to an end.
Boxing – health.
Boxing – reason not to drink or smoke.
Boxing – self-confidence.
Boxing – ability to stand up for yourself and your loved ones.
Boxing – is more than just Sports – It’s life.
There is always hope, and with actions like this, we will continue fighting to support those most in need and will continue the “Glove of Peace” program looking for more incredible people who continue to support others no matter where they are. Thanks to Mr. Akdrashev and Suleimen promotions for supporting this noble cause.
Scholas Ocurrentes is a non-religious foundation created by the Holy Father, Pope Francisco and its world presidents are Jose Maria del Corral and Enrique Palmeyro. Its educational programs are based on sports, art and technology.
