
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, mourn the passing of boxing promoter and Pay-Per-View pioneer Joe Hand Sr., who passed away on Thursday, August 1 at the age of 87, after a battle with COVID-19.
Joe will be forever remembered for his marvelous and caring work as a mentor to Joe Frazier, who became an Olympic gold medalist and defeated Muhammad Ali at Madison Square Garden in 1971.
The entire boxing family sends our deepest condolences to Joe’s family and their many friends. What a man, what a life and what memories!
